I went on vacation to Florida this May, and had some fantastic herping experiences. Unfortunately, I haven't had the chance to post pictures until now. I hope you enjoy!:D

I believe this is a Florida blue garter snake...Could somebody please confirm this?

A photo of some of the neat habitat:

A bug-eating plant, which I thought was pretty cool:

Now, try to guess what these box turtles were doing.

These little guys were everywhere. I believe that the snakes in the area are very well-fed.

I had a couple of these Florida fence-lizards as a pet a long time ago. They tame well and are pretty easy to care for. They would sit on my shoulder or head and just nap. I love the blue chin on this male.

This was one of the highlights of the trip. A Florida Cottonmouth

A black racer. Isn't it incredible how they glide over the ground?

I must say that this was the highest point in the whole trip. An eastern hognose snake!!!! Judging from the tail region, I'm pretty sure that this one was a male.

This is the place where I found (and released) him.
