These little baby radixes are such a source of joy. They do the funniest things.
Just a moment ago I passed by my het. baby group. They were out cruising which tells me they want some food. I looked in a saw one particular radix hanging around the water dish. I stuck my finger in the water and flicked some at her. She bit at the water. I did it over and over again and she continued biting at the water. It was like a dog playing with a garden hose.
The little scrub was hoping a fish would jump in her mouth.

I guess she figured the water was flung by fish, or else she thought you were giving her food.
You're right though, my little Amy (iowa albino radix) is a riot at feeding time. She doesn't see well at all, she just seems to see only shadows. In other words, she sees light but I don't think she sees much else. When I bring food to her, she smells it and starts lunging into the air with her mouth open in such a funny manner. If during blind "shot in the dark" her mouth happens to touch something, my hand for instance, she latches on and starts chewing.

checker too when i fed him fish he'd go up bump into my hand deliberately then take the fish head first and kill it by bangn it around...i remember once with a pinky he was to hungry to play 15sec. tug-o-war and he treated me like a drive through....ran all the way to the other side of the cage lid(feed him on that) but pinky was cut wierd and his jaw kept getting stuck in a flap so he spat it out and didnt try to eat anything else that day....but the next day he took a new one like a kid takn candy

Another funny thing Amy does, once she gets a morsel in her mouth, she waves her head back in forth, like she's saying "no".
