Wow, that's a quick turn around.
I've never had that happen or heard about it.
How's the mom doing?

she stopped eating shed and everything just like a normal gestation.I am wondering if I had put a male in with her if it would have been successful.I am also wondering if wild garters have two broods a year sometimes.

Not that I would even want two broods.I have enough trouble getting rid of the ones I get.

You could ship them to me. No trouble at all.

I am surprised that you have trouble with as good a looking snake as that

Tom, I had two female snow plains do that last year, only one dropped jelly beans in January then had small surprise litter in April, the other had same senerio as yours this year, thought it was a freak thing too, go figure, shrug

Lack of a "normal" seasonal rythym that the snakes have evolved with, and you're going to get strange things like this happening. Let's face it, you're giving your snakes WAY warmer and idealistic conditions for WAY longer than they would encounter in the wild. Naturally, they change to adapt, such as producing eggs twice a year, or at "abnormal" times and frequencies. Personally, I think many breeders go way too easy on their garters then act surprised when something like this happens, and scratch their heads as to why they are dropping so many jelly beans, etc.
