I'm enjoying my T.e.vagrans so much that i would be interested in looking into some of the other T. elegans. Who has what? Who is breeding any of the following or has a surplus in their backyard?

Arizona (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arizona) Garter Snake, Thamnophis elegans arizonae (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Thamnophis_elegans_arizonae&action=edit&redlink=1)
Mountain Garter Snake, Thamnophis elegans elegans (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Thamnophis_elegans_elegans&action=edit&redlink=1)
Mexican (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mexico) Wandering Garter Snake, Thamnophis elegans errans (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Thamnophis_elegans_errans&action=edit&redlink=1)
Coast Garter Snake, Thamnophis elegans terrestris (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Thamnophis_elegans_terrestris&action=edit&redlink=1)
Wandering Garter Snake, Thamnophis elegans vagrans (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Thamnophis_elegans_vagrans&action=edit&redlink=1)
Upper Basin Garter Snake, Thamnophis elegans vascotanneri (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Thamnophis_elegans_vascotanneri&action=edit&redlink=1)
Sierra San Pedro Mártir (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sierra_San_Pedro_M%C3%A1rtir) Garter Snake, Thamnophis elegans hueyi (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Thamnophis_elegans_hueyi&action=edit&redlink=1)

I would like to find out what their tempraments are and maybe even some photos.

Well, the only two subspecies still recognized, are T. elegans elegans and T. elegans vagrans.

It's the same with my 3.2.

Very calm (especially females), very unlikely to bite unless there's food around. However, the need for solo housing needs to be emphasized.

Does this mean the other subspecies have been absorbed in to the T.e.e. and the T.e.v.? or were they reclassified altogether?

Yeah, I had a WC wandering, and it tried to eat my Similis I got from Scott- Good thing that lesson was learned before things turned tragic.

I had a lady call me to come get a "rattlesnake" from her yard I got there and found a male vagrans. I was going to take it up the canyon near her home for release but had to get to work so I took it home and put him in my huge outdoor enclosure. I had a gopher snake in their that someone else had brought by but I figured the enclosure was large enough that they would never even see each other before I got home. Well I was wrong, but at least the garter got a good meal right.

Don,
You're the T.e.vagrans man. Have you had any trouble with canabalism? (And keep me in mind for a little one when the mountain garters finally breed)

IIRC, the populations that had formerly comprised the other subspecies were merged with these two.

luckily I haven't had any issues with it...but vagrans will eat other reptiles. I have had them eat lizards and have seen pics someone took of a vagrans eating a lined snake. they might be breeding size by this coming winter.... hopefully!
