So the little nippy one that bit me, was having problems shedding. I found her will about half of the job done, but had managed to get that half all bunched up to where it was stuck. After I pulled it off, I was suddenly her best friend, go figure.

She was running until I started pulling it off. Then she become very calm. I imagine it was like having an itch scratched that you can't reach.

The few times I've had to help with partial sheds, all of the snakes, even the snakes that aren't too crazy about being held, have figured out fairly fast that I'm trying to help them. And once they grasp that, they even start actively working with me to get it off.

You are in touch with your snakes my young grasshopper. When you can grasp the radix from my hand, it will be time for you to leave.(You're probably too young to know what I'm talking about):D
I soak my troubled shed snake in a warm water bath for about 10-15 minutes. Then it's under warm running water under the sink faucet. I let the water do a lot of the work. If I keep the stream of water on the area where the old shed is coming off it works best. I've even had times when the water worked so well the snakes shed filled with water and looked like a balloon. The big help is the soak before you try to shed them. This seems to work well for me.
