ok well my parents wont let me have any more pets (only have checker) and any motorcycle but back to animals iv got a pretty narrowed down list of what i want when i move out and get the space

iv always wanted a red snake it will either be
http://www.hognose.com/images/speck/leioheterodon_geayi_000326_02.jpg
[malagasy spekeled hognose]
or i would like
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F55o6jwANDQ
a red phase western coachwhip (youtube icon disapeared so i posted link)
whichever i get i got the perfect name for any of thees texas sized snakes..."BIG RED" :)

also id love a monitorr lizard (rather than a dog greeting u at the door ittl be a lizard :)) iv looked at lots and keep changing my mind and i think i finally narrowed down my choices ittl either be

a peachthroat monitor because tey look cool with long necks and blue tail
http://creationwiki.org/pool/images/8/87/Peach_throat_monitor.jpg

or any type of goanna that can stand i saw a cool pic of one that i cant identify which species it is but heres a vid of one standing
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QGbclDgaG8g

ill try and get a pic of the cool one but it might take a while.
and last but not least i have checker.....who is still not growing after a year! barly if at all an inch!hes about 13inches now...grow hit puberty do something checker!

That first pic reminds me of the...

Wait, what was that race of humanoides that Jar-Jar binks belongs to in star wars episode one?

Remember the leader of their race (Jar-Jar's race) when he was talking to the queen and the Jedi?

Yup, that's him in the first pic.:p

Yoosa have pinkies for Meesa? Meesa like! LoL.
http://www.danceswithreptiles.com/chomp_files/chompie.jpg

So my choice would be a talking monitor like him^^ that talks like jar-jar binks. Now what would be cool.

But seriously, I have always wanted a red phase eastern milk snake since as long as I can remember. Thanks infernalis.

If I had the means to care for it, I'd love an asian vine snake:

http://www.montereybayaquarium.org/storage/animals/520x260/AsianVineSnake.jpg

An eastern hognose would be fantastic if I had continual access to the appropriate food sources. I encountered on of those snakes recently, and was completely enamored of it.:D (I'll post pictures later, in a different thread)

True, they aren't even that expensive either! The problem is that they need extremely high-humidity (between 85 and 100%). They don't generally eat mice, and (from what I hear) they can only drink running water. Given that they reach about 6ft long and are aboreal, they need a very tall aquarium as well. I can't manage all of that! :D:o

Perhaps in the distant future, I'll have a reptile house in which I could have a special aquarium for a vine snake of my very own.

See what I mean? Meesa like pinkies!

On the subject of vine snakes, a really big one(around 5 feet) was up for adoption on my local craigslist a few months ago. Like this one. They stated that it would only eat lizards so that's a no-go for me. I think they're really awesome, but no source of lizards for me. As far as housing goes, that's easy. A fogger can help with the humidity while you still provide good ventilation but they do need very large enclosures, lushly planted and designed for climbing snakes. They will drink from leaves and such if you mist them daily. They would be worth trying for experienced snake keepers that have plenty of room and a constant supply of cheap or free lizards to feed them.

Getting my black racer baby to eat was challenging, the little guy only ate live Anoles for his first dozen meals, then I got him on pinks, it was much better.

They aren't pets- but I have started volunteering with a birds of prey educational organization. The first is Sophie, a Great Horned Owl from Alaska- she had broken her wing, and by the time someone found her it had set incorrectly, and she contracted a disease of the mouth called Frounce. She is non-releaseable- but such a sweetheart.

This is a Peregrine Falcon named Cliff. He was a falconer's bird, but his reflexes have slowed, making him a less effective hunter. Instead of just keeping him away from people- the falconer wanted him to be used as an educational ambassador. He's noisy and a nipper, but he's my favorite.
http://hphotos-snc3.fbcdn.net/hs221.snc3/20879_364143450598_299969950598_10342366_5391145_n .jpg (http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=10342367&id=299969950598)
This is Foster- a rough-legged hawk. His story sucks. He was shot in Nebraska, and the rehab center was unable to save his wing. It has been amputated at the wrist and is no longer able to survive on his own. We have to work with him alot to rebuild trust. The shot to the wing, he doesn't know it was humans, but I am dead certain he knows man is the reason is wing is gone.

This is Karma- a red tailed hawk. She is the founder's falconry bird and is three years old. very inquisitive, and she's a hoot as she snags worms in the yard. Her eyes are intense, and unnerving to say the least.

No, I wasn't the lucky kid! LOL!!! I didn't get Roark until I was 34!!! As a kid, I had to work at a stable to ride. Worked 11 hours a day in the summer, rain or shine with no days off. Worked 11 hours a day rain or shine on the weekends during school, too. However, I LOVED it and it was the ONE job I had that I didn't end up NOT wanting to go to work!

I adopted Roark 6 years ago, as a retired racehorse. He cost me $700 total to get shipped from Ohio. It was the best $700 I ever spent! He had a great career on the track, winning $137,000 before I got him. Yet, he's got the BEST temperament in the world. I wouldn't trade him for anything!!!!

Jason, I LOVE the raptors! They'd be high on my list too!

Nah, he's a scaredy cat. He's afraid of leaves blowing past his feet, so I think he'd rather run than stomp anything at all. :)

I'd love to own a sparrow hawk. We raised one from a ball of fluff when I was a child and successfully released him into the wild. I named him Taka. What a personality! Sweet and talkative!

In fantasy land, I'd also like to own a cheetah. But only if I could bottle raise it. ( You see, I have this thing about fast animals. There's nothing wrong with mutt dogs but I will only ever own a dog that's lean and starved looking and runs like greased lightning!)

I already own the world's best Haflinger stallion, the horse of my childhood dreams. But then I am VERY biased when it comes to anything Alex related. Unfortunately, I SHOULD be riding gaited horses with the issues my back has developed lately. Haflingers are definitely NOT gaited!

if i ever stop bein allergic to horses id probably get a klidsdale(probably not spelled right) one of the amzing horses they parade around sea world !(not much into normal-ish common pet horses) maybe a mustang....i goto john jay high so a mustang has to be a possability and as for a bird of prey id get either a female coopers hawk(they look silver and white) or a osprey

Hooooo boy! You just HAD to encourage me! Don't you know how dangerous that is???

Here's Alexander KCH, the quietest stallion I have ever worked around. ( And I've groomed a lot of stallions! ) We have 3 Haflingers, two geldings and one stallion. The geldings cause all the trouble! The geldings have also rubbed their beautiful long manes out from grazing through the fence. Alex rarely causes trouble. I've had kids take pony rides on him.

Thanks guys! This is why I'm always so poor. Horses, even easy keepers like mine, are rather high maintenance. In spite of the trouble, I don't think I'll part with the geldings. ( Believe me you'd get sick of coming home from work and frequently finding one or both geldings on the wrong side of the fence! They wiggle under. I know, I've watched Indy do it. Jumping over is too much work! )

However if you could find Alex some wives that would be splendid! He makes really intelligent babies. Sometimes too intelligent! He's got about 30 Amish tractors on the ground already before we bought him. I heard the Amish-man we bought him from regrets ever selling him. I know why. ;-)
