You all may not know this but I have been a surrogate for my sister and her husband. Baby Fiona Ann Jordan arrived Saturday, April 24th at 6:08 am. She decided to come 4 weeks early and her "stats" are 6 lbs, 18 1/2".

I have attached some photos below:

Thank you so much, Stefan. I hope I placed my announcement in the right place. This was very much a privelege for me. I was so honoured by the fact that they had asked me to do this for them. I have let a few members of the forum know and I wanted to share our baby with all of you. This process took 13 months to complete and I am so proud of the results! This baby was their last hope/chance to have one of their own. She was a frozen embryo, created almost 3 years ago and one of the last 2. In IVF, they always use the best ones first, so baby Fiona was meant to be.

All are doing well. Thank you all and enjoy our photos!

It's not exactly the sort of topic that belongs on a forum dedicated to garter snakes, BUT it's clearly a very important event for you, so I'll be looking the other way. ;) Besides, Shannon did set a precedent a while back.

So, this was a "surrogate carry" type of thing?

Yes, thank you so much Stefan for understanding the importance of my post and my need to share. I "carried" the baby for my sister and her husband because she was unable to. This was their only hope of having one of their own (biologically) and this was the last chance they had. With IVF, they transfer at least 2 embryos at a time. With this last attempt, they only had 2 embryos left, which had been frozen 2 years before the transfer. All I can say, is she was meant to be.

Yeah, this might come as a shock to most of you but there is more to life than garter snakes. (Please don't lynch me for saying that) :p
