If it's not a garter, it belongs in the Lounge. If it's not a natricine (snakes belonging to Natricinae, i.e. the subfamily containing Old World and New World water snakes), it should be in one of the off-topic threads there. In this case, the closest match would be Other pets (non-garters).

Psammophis are lizard eaters, IIRC. Unless you have a reliable supply of feeder anoles or geckos, I wouldn't bother. Not even if it's been conditioned to take mice.

No conditioning is needed. These snakes accept mice, young rats and small birds invariably and with great appetite. They have been bred repeatedly into the third generation. For more information on these snakes visit my website at http://www.steehouder.net
