I think it's time for everyone to meet this wonderful little female named Pinch. She was born last year and I've had to keep a special eye one her as she's matured. I spotted her when she was born because of the birth defect on her back. It did cause her some mobility problems for the first few months of her life but then she was fine with it. It looks like she was pinch on the back, hence the name.
As she's getting bigger this area on her back seem to be less and less of a problem. She's a docile and very curious snake.
Hey Rhea, How do you like that green head?
She's been living in the upstairs TLC enclosure for a long time but is now going to be put in general population. I believe left on her own she would not have made it. She's a good kid.

I was going to comment on the shape of her head too. Looks like a spear point.

It's simply different, in a sticky out sort of way :D .... it makes her extra special when it comes to cuteness factor.

I wish I had good news to tell you about Pinch.
The truth is I had to put her down today. Over the last 5 weeks she's gone off food and water. She had become very skinny and lethargic.
She had that dead stare with very little pupil reaction. She was suffering so I put her down.
I'm sad about losing her since she had come such a long way. I'm finding out very quickly that these snakes born with external disabilities my also have some we can't see.
It was a pleasure helping Pinch go as far as she did. I was really hoping to get her to adulthood.
She was a good radix.
R.I.P. my little friend.

sorry for your loss, Steve
it's true - the ones born with defects tend to have a short life expectancy even with the best care

Steve, I liked Greg's recovery. It's like Angelina Jolie's lips. Ya sorta can't help but notice them, they make her look a little different, but who's going to say that many don't find her attractive. Pinch is very cute.
