After cutting the grass in the backyard, I approached the back deck and saw a male radix acting crazy. He appeared to be searching for something. He was doing a lot of tongue flicking. Before I had my camera I layed on the ground and watch this male and 2 other males coming in and out from under the deck. One of the males even came over to me a touched me with his tongue. He didn't seem to mind that I was there. Once all the snakes were back under the deck I ran and got my camera. I layed back down on the ground and started shooting some video. At first it's just the one man but then........

very nice video, it seems that more and more wild snakes keep finding you...i must say that you are a very lucky person and the snakes are lucky that they keep showing up on your property and not some other peoples.

I was also wondering how many different types of garters do you have that show up around the ranch?

very nice, parietalis is my favorite of all the garters. i had to sell mine because i had to move for college....i regret more than i could have imagined, i hope to get a pair of them i in the semi near future. nothing fancy, just the typical red sides, i only wish i could get my original snakes back

Some of them can make a lasting impression.
My two favorite males died a short while ago. I miss my boys. They were awesome.

lasting impression is an understatement; and i know you know that from your posts that i have read. ive had cats, dogs, fish, hamsters, birds, lizards...the list goes on and on but i can't think of anything i was more attached to than my snakes.

I wish I could find a breeding ball out here, Just for the assurance that the T.butleri is still in a healthy existance out here.

Last night we had thunderstorms and rain. It was cold to start the day but cleared off. This afternoon I went back out to see my wild group. I never saw a female but the males were all out searching for the ladies. A number of them came right up to me and ignored my presents as long as I stayed still.
I did scare the crud out of one male who came up behind me. I heard a noise and turned my head to see what it was. The male had been right beside me. He bolted out in the the yard, stopped and looked back at me with a "what the heck was that" look. He went under the deck via the front steps. A few moments later he came out the side and acted as if nothing had happened.
These males are in another world when they can smell a female. I've got some other video of them and will post a few.
When I first bought this house it was because of the large backyard.
Now, it's all about the radixes. I only wish I had more.

Sony. Just like Vegas only the home version.
That way I didn't have to learn anything new.

I went to go out on the deck to check on my wild bunch when I spotted this little male giving me the look.

I just went out with my camcorder and got some great footage of these males.
The camcorder is charging and I have company coming over any minute.
I'll post it as soon as I can.
It sounds like there's a lot of activity back behind the siding.:D The boys are at work.:D

Here's another video of my wild radix activity. This is video from today. The males were out looking for females. There was a lot of noice(snakes moving) coming from behind the sliding. I'm hoping for another warm day tomorrow. I shot this video while laying on the deck. At times they were with in a couple of inches of me.
