I have a couple of guesses, but Nerodia isn't one of them. Naturally, I could be wrong.

edit: that seems to be an archive photo, there's no telling where in the world it originates from.

Macroprotodon cucullatus. Possibly.

not even the right color for trans pecos. I think it's a european species.

Interesting Stefan, how do you ever find these things??

Google image search, search term "two-headed snake", look for the same picture or the same snake, check if it's a part of an article and if that article mentions the species.

There's probably an easier way.

I thought maybe you just right clicked the picture, then checked the properties...

Google image search is awesome, use it a lot.

That was the first thing I tried. "Two-Headed%20Snake.jpg" Not very helpful.

I just back tracked it, and found this, caught my interest more than the 2 headed animals they have posted......

OMG that is gorgeous! You have large areas of no melanin, accented by yellow, and stripe of red/orange. Perfect!

That's why I am very fond of albino infernalis or parietalis. Gorgeous. Just can't afford one right now.

You know, I find this very interesting:

The carteret co. erythristic albino produced by scott f. and jeff b.

You can't tell me that you guys didn't notice that the red/orange color that develops later, isn't actually on the scales. It's between them. Or at least it appears to be.

Fascinating... and complicating, as far as genes go.

I have seen those, where is the albino Infernalis?

Oops. Thank you for pointing out my error. I pretty much meant any amelanistic garter with red/orange and yellow/gold together on the same snake. Awesome combo, regardless of species.

That I agree with. I'd sell my soul for an amelanistic Infernalis though!

Imagine all the red bars, the red head and turquoise stripe without the black.

Don't take that wrong either, I have melanistic and anery garters and a pet black racer, so I do appreciate the black snakes, I just really like colors too.

Yeah, it's fine. Also misleading. If you don't already know what it is you are looking for, and can recognize mislabled images, it's fine.

It's suffering from amelanism.

That reminds me of something I used to say:

I don't suffer from mental illness; I enjoy every minute of it!

Holy crap that albino texas pic you posted is awesome Wayne, nice find. It reminds me of the hybino that Scott produced a few years back.
