2 females eastern ....the first was gentle she did'nt care about me...
the second one was nice but crazy i did few quick shots ....after that I smell bad the rest of the day.

I went herping yesterday but I did'nt find snake,I tried to found new spot for garter snake...Today it will be a lot much better!!!

During the time I pulled out my camera from my bag I sat down like 5 feet from them and 2 big male came toward me to see what is going on they are very curious !
I saw 5 garter snake in total before the pictures.

God Damn siboire de marde!!THere is snow everywhere here!!!!THey expect like 8 inches of snow for today,this is not good for snake...Most of them are out of their den!!

I feel your pain, the snakes have been out for over a month here but its been frosty every night so I havent been able to find any snakes, other than the green one i showed pics of. I also noticed that you are only 12hrs drive away from me...lol I may have to get you to send me a snake that looks like that mean on in your pics (or the mean one itself lol) if it isnt too much trouble :) or maybe even some different ones that you guys have there that we dont here. afterall we canadian herp nuts have to stick together....shipping to and from the states seems like it would be very difficult.

Concinnus and ordioides came out of their dens on warmer days starting in late January here! They stay close to the dens only surfacing to catch a little warmth from the sun and to breed. Smart move because the weather can turn deadly cold again. We've had very few days warm enough for normal activity and it's been mostly raining and quite cold for the past 6-8 weeks. Don't worry about the snakes, they've been doing this for a while. I'm sure they're back in their dens safe and sound. The snow actually helps insulate them and hold in some of that warmth that has been building up.

After the rain I went herping today to a spot where the garter snake are very green this an exemple ,I know there is garter with a lot more green with yellow strippe right there they are very nice!!

At this time of the year this is the most available frog for garter snake they are everywhere !!!this one was very cute...Usually I keep few frog on each herping trip for my garter but I release the frogs I take for
pictures...Sometime they are almost pink...
Wood frog(Rana sylvatica).
