I don't know if I am posting in the right area but I am looking for an Indonesian Garter snake breeder to purchase a pair of snakes for my future husband as a wedding present.

Indonisian garter snakes are his favorite snakes and he has kept them in the past, but we haven't been able to find a breeder. I don't need the snakes until november but I want to at least be in contact with a breeder so I can have ideas of prices and how to go about purchasing the snakes.

I'm sorry if this is posted in the wrong area.

I fully intend to breed this species as well as a number of other asian keelback species someday... but at the moment, I only have one. I don't think there are any breeders, all the striped keelbacks/indonesian garters I've seen were sold by wholesalers as wild caught junk snakes. People buy them because they are cheap and were just looking for cheap snakes, and really had no intentions of attempting to establish the species. I'm hoping to change that, but finding a source of these snakes that are healthy and not emaciated and half dead from improper care is very hard! If you do somehow find someone that's breeding them please let me know because I'd like some as wll!

How is the one doing for you Shannon?

I have seen them sold in pairs that claim they have been treated for parasites through DTS I believe. Your best bet is trying to locate a wholesaler that will sell you a group because chances are if you buy only one or two individuals they will not last for you.

the one Shannon's got came from me, and he's been in good shape for a few years now
when I got them they came from a Florida importer and were in atrocious condition
my sense about DTS is that he's trustworthy, so if he's got them it's probably a safer buy than elsewhere until Shannon's breeding them
