This is a repost to a thread that was lost a month or so ago.

This little female came from Ian. She is the lightest colored and strangest colored radix I've ever seen. Her name is VP(vanishing pattern). She's gravid now and eating like a pig. She conceived on 3/3/2010 and weighted 73g. Now she's 84g and looking good. She bred with a little red phase named Opie. She was very wild when I got her but now is as calm as could be. Her colorings remind me of some Easterns(Thamnophis Sirtalis Sirtalis) I've seen.
She different from any other radix I have and a welcome member of the Ranch. Looking forward to see how this vanishing pattern and light colors blend with the red of the male she bred with.

Very nice garter, from the moment I start looking to become a garter keeper (just few weeks ago :o) I look for as many infos and pictures I can, but I have to say despite my preference for red garters, your picture from the head of your radix make me say : "Wow!! What a beautiful animal it is."

As I was thinking of it I ask myself : why not share this with you ;) that's the why of my comment :D

I apologize to all of you who take offense to my simple mindedness, but I would love to see that girl breed with a Axanthic individual!

Incredible Steve!!!

I happen to know where an awesome one is and I'm sure I could borrow it this Fall. He's still young but might be of breeding size by Fall.

Yes she is. She also has an equally beautiful attitude. Very calm and likes any interaction. She's a bold girl and pushes her way to the front for food. She only backs down from Big Girl.
When she was placed with a group she was a pushover. At the first sign of a confrontation she would drop the food and run. Those days are over.
I guess she's growing up.

Here's that photo. A very funny thing happened shortly after this photo was taken. VP was set down in the yard and headed for the tall prairie grass. Gabby picked her up and got a full load of poop on her hands and arm. Looking back at the photo I can see she was ready to dump. Guess I should have warned Gabby:D

Since she bred she's been a non-stop eating machine.
She even has trouble moving through the grass, the tub:D
That was very uncalled for from me. This beautiful pregnant girl is going to give me some very special babies in a couple of months.
Shame on me:D

It's been over a year since I posted an update about my girl VP(Vanishing Pattern).
She's has really put on some size and is doing very well. She shed the day of these photos.
She gets her name from the vanishing black spots(photo#2)
