I don't complain about my snakes very often but lately I think they've been playing tricks on me. Cruel tricks
My big girls in the big enclosures have been coming out and sleeping in the open. Picture it. A large garter out in the open, head down and tilted to one side. For me it's a classic position a dead snake takes.
So, I panic and say things, while I hurriedly open the enclosure. While I do this the snake doesn't move which adds to my anxiety. Now I've got the stupid enclosure open and I reach in and touch the snake. It still doesn't move so I go to pick it up. Now, the silly radix wakes up and looks at me like"what's wrong".
This has happened half a dozen times this week and I'm beginning to think they're doing it on purpose.
I love the fact that they're comfortable but this is extreme.

My younger two do it all the time. A week or so ago my husband was sitting at my desk and asked if one was 'ok'. 'Yeah, he's just sleeping'. 'They just go to sleep like that??' LOL Yep :)

I rarely noticed when my concinnus were sleeping but Amy does this too! Sort of the dead look and then she wakes up and looks at me as if to say "feeding time?". It's so cute.
