While searching for a missing snake(which I found) I spotted a very young radix watching me from a hole in the old foundation. This is now a new interior wall of the big snake room. I reached up and grabbed the little beggar's head but had to let go for fear of hurting it. 10 minutes later I saw the same(so I thought) snake watching me again. Using a small piece of worm as bait, I was able to lure the little one out enough to be caught. A few moments later another snake appeared at a different hole. Once again, I was able to bait the little one out. You might think that's good enough but I'm not done. A few moments later a third snake appeared and was baited out. All three snakes appear to be in good health and not thin at all. They were very thirsty and I was able to hand feed the smallest of the three.
Now I can say I've got radixes coming out of my walls.:D I love this place.

nicely colored! Like a moth to the flame, or the Radix to the Steve? Not that I don't like the wanderings I come across, I'd like to see some orange striped plains around here.

While checking the basement for any water(heavy rain) I checked this area again and saw another snake. This one required a sample of the food before it would come out enough to be caught. Another fine, healthy looking female. They must have wintered over on top of the cinder blocks. I would call all of them dark phase. I'll get a better look at them in tomorrows light.
Heck, maybe I'll even find a few more. Going to try and get some video if I see another one.

Jason,
I've got a dark phase male with a deep orange stripe that doesn't fade out. I'm going to get him in with one or two or more of my orange striped ladies. Maybe I'll have a a couple babies I can send your way later this Fall.
Are you sure you they did't have Redix Ranch Reservations

Last time I saw him in a pic or video, I could have sworn a radix was coming out of his ear. I guess you missed that memo. :p
