Some new pics of my Infernalis boys. They are super feisty and very defensive of their territory. They bite my hands more than any other snakes here.
http://www.ssnakess.info/secret/infernalis1.jpg
http://www.ssnakess.info/secret/infernalis2.jpg
And my Melanistic Eastern Garter (Thamnophis Sirtalis Sirtalis) What a little pain in the but this one is, The only snake here that refuses pinkies, he just loves fish and worms (Sometimes I cheat and mince up a pink into the fish, then maybe if I'm lucky some of it gets ate) .
http://www.ssnakess.info/secret/melanistic.jpg
My Coastal ribbon snake, This little runt defied all odds and survived after a larger sibling ate him 1/2 of the way down (Head first) before I found them like that and separated them. That was 2 years ago now.

2 flames, 1 Puget, 1 wandering, 3 snow radix, 2 anery RS, 1 Albino RS, 1 Christmas Radix, 4 normal Radix (all hets from Scott), 2 normal red sided, 4 normal easterns, 1 melanistic eastern, 1 Axanthic Radix, 1 snow eastern, 2 Infernalis, and 2 other easterns het for albino.
I have decided to slow down though, I do not want to turn into a hoarder:eek:
and since I do display the psych profile of a compulsive hoarder, it's important that I do not allow it to take over with my critters.

That's so cute.
I've been decreasing the day length and letting get quite a bit cooler at night and my adult concinnus have been wanting to hide and bury themselves at night whereas before they were content to just curl up in corner for the night. I think it's the instinct to find a brumating shelter.
Anyway, I put a section of sturdy cardboard tubing (about 5 inch diameter) in there up on their climbing log and some pieces of cardboard in the bottom like you did. I stuffed one end of the tube with moss. As soon as I put that stuff in there, they all came rushing over to investigate. It's so cute. They spent the night under their cardboard and inside the tube. This morning they're poking their head out. Got pics. Will post here later today :http://www.thamnophis.com/forum/general-talk/7090-concinnusmans-garters-29.html

She hinted she was hungry when she tried to eat my hand. It was not even her scheduled feeding, but I heavily suspect she's easting for more than just one currently.
Her girth has almost doubled in the last few weeks.
Just look at her profile, the diameter of her neck area is substantially smaller than her mid section.

Actually, with ANY camera, there are always a few settings that are in conflict with macro mode so cannot be used. I thought the flower symbol was universal. My new camera doesn't actually have a flower button either, (my old one did) but macro mode is still represented by the flower symbol in the menu and on screen settings indicator. I know what you mean though, the color/exposure, etc. settings that can be adjusted according to conditions can be changed and that's the important part for getting great pics from a not-so-expensive camera.
http://www.thamnophis.us/Nov25/radixface.jpg
Yeah, I noticed this one is a bit different than most nebraska's and very, very attractive. Regular average nebraska's don't really appeal to me, but that one...
I don't know all the background on their genetics but is it possible that maybe you have an orange christmas nebraska there? I mean, there's definitely some color there already.
I've seen a lot of snows too, that really, really don't appeal to me, (ugly worms:p) but again, that one... amazing. I like his slightly translucent look at the same time, a very distiguishable pattern can be seen unlike many snows.

Jo, I am very pleased with my black necks. The runt still eats just fine, just not as much food. The other two can and usually do eat 2-3 XS pinkies per meal, the little one eats a pinkie and a half, and they have to be split in half first, no biggie.

Glad to see Muttly has a chance at life.
Glad he's with you and that some of his siblings are safe with other forum members.

That's why I kept her, She was going to get chopped by a homeowner.
At least the man listened to me, he has since patched the holes in the concrete and removed the shrubs from the front entrance to his house to make it less likely to attract more.

Last night we found another baby loose on the floor in the reptile room.. When Copper had her babies, it seems that two of them found the small hole drilled in the rear of the viv where the electric cord passes, and squeezed out.
aside from dehydration, the little scrub was doing fine, I promptly put it in the water bowl, it drank a lot for a neonate.

The hole was in moms cage. she has the one my Savannah Monitor spent his youth in. It's quite big.

No reason to defend yourself Jesse.. I may seem harsh at times, but overall I try to be polite unless something gets under my skin. ;)
The drill hole is under the aspen shavings, so I never even thought about it.
May be a good time to mention, I had to take the cage slightly apart because one of the babies had found a seam in the wood and got itself wedged into it.
This cage was definitely not designed to be a birthing cage for garters, Nothing a little hot glue couldn't fix.

Rhea, Don't be easy on him or he might think he can make a habit of such behavior.
