Please tell my you've had confused young males who try to hook up with their brothers... please? One of my near two year olds just shed and his brother is a bit too interested in him. This is the first sexual behavior I've seen from these two and we were pretty certain we had them sexed correctly... sooo, who else has horny teenage boys who mistake their cage mates for girls?

Moving one out now, just in case... sigh...

Went to separate them and I really am pretty certain the "object of desire" is male. Guess a little experimenting never killed anyone :o:eek::o

I think you may want to check the sex of that maybe female that is getting pursued. If it turns out to be a male don't be too hard on the confused man. Remember, male garters have been known to lead other groups of males away from the den area. From what I understand they do it with the female pheromone.

I can't say I've ever seen that kind of behavior in any of my males. They seem to be very secure in themselves:D

Don, don't you mean you've seen it in your garters?:D

LOL, Steve :)

I had a feeling it was somewhat normal <gg> Visually it seems really obvious to me that they're both male. I went ahead and left them together. After interrupting them they're both running around like fools, but are not assaulting each other so I think the identity crisis is over. I also pulled the fresh shed out of there. Yeah, they're definitely looking for something but not each other... whew... was a bit of a shock to walk in and see some action going on in the "baby tank" lol

It's totally normal, some males will falsely emit female pheromones, especially in breeding season. Your snakes are just a little confused!

even took the "bottom" to Sean to have him probed because I thought my visual sexing was off
