So, I don't normally like to go too far off topic, but I consider this to be rather large news to just stick into an already existing thread somewhere... you all may have noticed a considerable drop in my postings (or maybe not!) and my attendance here. Well, it's because I've been doing a great deal of sleeping, eating and thinking....
I've just found out I'm preggers!!! :eek::eek::eek::eek:
So when all my females are gorging themselves silly and lazing around under basking lamps all day, I'll be right there with them.
I still need to get an official date from a doctor, but it's looking to be due in early september!
oh, my.....

I don't know about September though - I think May might be preferable
Shannon'll be very pregnant during the hottest months of the year, with extra large boobs and extra large belly to lug around - she may end up having to join the muumuu crowd

haha... rhea, I was thinking the same thing about being preggers all summer, but wasn't going to scare Shannon <gg> Just make sure that man of yours brings you lots of cool drinks, fruit, and fans you while you lounge all summer long and you'll be ok :)
My bday is at the end of September... but in no way would I want you to hold that kiddo in til my birthday :) My kids are May and Novemeber and May was quite a bit easier! You really will be fine, though :) I swear :)

Shannon,
I have carried 3 through the summer; my first was born Sept 1st, the others were Oct & Dec. Summer is not so bad, at least you don't have to worry about not seeing your feet in the winter time!
Take it easy and listen to your body. Right now, though not the best thing for me, ice cream is at the top of my list! and chocolates. And oranges. oh yeah, Christmas cookies:D
Thank you everyone for the congratulations!

well it's always comforting to know I'm not alone! Congrats to you love!
Luckily for me, I don't really ever crave the "bad" stuff, like cookies, sweets, chips and snacks... I eat them sometimes but only if they are just "there" and I happen to be hungry. I have a natural love for fruit, veggies, seafood and poultry!!! artichokes (my favorite food!), mangos, portobello mushroom tops are three things I will actually make a special trip to the grocery store for if i run out!! Ice cream though... mmmmm. I gotta stay away from that stuff cause I will eat the whole tub!!!

Are you the same gal I met on iHerp? Just in case I'll message you there!

Hey there, who's Rhea? That happens to be my middle name... and I've met fewer Rhea's than I have met Gisele's... those two together are my given names... a combo that's as rare as a green eyed two-headed albino granite santa cruz garter snake (I made that one up... please don't tell me there are 2 dozen in captivity)!
Oh, and my first post on thamnophis, I'm glad I found this site, thanks ya'll!

well last night i started having some weird symptoms and some cramping. I had an appointment already scheduled today but since i told them what was happening they changed the original plan and took my blood and did an ultrasound. There was no heartbeat, so I am losing the pregnancy. :(

I'm sorry to hear that. Are they absolutely sure? If it was your first ultrasound you might not be far enough along to hear the heartbeat. Did they schedule you to come back in so they can retry the ultrasound a bit later if you aren't actively miscarrying?
Just trying to keep hopes up. I'm 9 weeks along right now myself and have had cramping the past few weeks but my doctor says it's normal but I'm completely freaked out since I lost a baby a couple of years ago as well.

No, it is for sure... I've already had one when I was at 8 weeks and I could see the heartbeating, now I would be at 13 weeks but they said it died around 9 weeks of age. I just got out of the ER because I am in severe pain they gave me a 4 inch needle to my thigh! For pain, it seems to have helped some.... I just need it to be enough to let me sleep. It's been a very long day... Thanks everyone for your support.

Hope you're feeling better soon. Don't give up. There will be another time if you want it. My own mother miscarried twice in her early 20's before having 3 boys way back in 1966, 1970, 1975.

well last night ""it"" happened. I had been feeling strong contractions for a few hours last night, much like monday night when I was at the ER. All the sudden everything came at once. It was about 3 hours of non-stop, excruciating, agonizing pain that, unlike the contractions, did not pause in between for a break in the pain. Eddie stayed with me the whole time... finally it eased up enough that I could move, and I started walking briskly around my house, and up and down the stairs (for some reason this was very relieving, pain-wise) after an hour of pacing i was able to lay down. Now that it's over I should not feel anymore pain, thank god. It was very disturbing, because of what I saw, and I hope it never happens to me ever again.
