You can see the make poking his head out just a bit.

Beautiful animals! I am now up to SEVEN adult concinnus. They are by far, one of the most striking snakes out there. In fact, at my table at the Hamburg show, they were JUST as popular as the california red sideds!

I don't know if it's just the pic, breeding, or what, but man that is very red. Spectacular!

I'm serious when I say I've never seen a wild concinnus like that. All my little hiking buddies around here have coloration that is really more of construction orange than red. Much lighter than the pic. That snake is just breathtaking.

You should see the parents!! They are awesome, lots of red and they have nice hints of blue on their belly. Too bad the friend of mine that produced them doesn't have the adults anymore. Only a lone male at his house now.

Great shots Jeremy. I didn't believe Mr P when he said he was, well, lightening the load.

Yes it is funny to see his snake rooms; they are still packed right to the ceiling. He did say he has reduced his collection by 100 plus animals.
It seems Don is mainly working with Drymarchon corais couperi and corais corais but you already knew that and also a lot with Chondro pythons. He has some very impressive and docile Chondros.

Here are a few more pictures:

Those are gorgeous representatives of the subspecies, some of, if not the prettiest ones I've seen photos of.

For the longest time I always wondered why they chose to call them "Red" spotted. I've never saw one in the wild that could be mistaken for red in Oregon or Washington. They were all definitely orange. Although in Benton Co. (the area of Oregon where those fully "red" colored heads comes from) It's a pretty dark and rich orange, but still not red. I'm beginning to get the impression that all the one's in the pet/hobby circles are descended from Benton county(area) stock because seriously, they (yours and others') don't look like most concinnus you'll see across OR and WA outside of that small county.

Somehow I missed the reply, thanks for sharing more shots I can never see enough of these.
Glad to hear he still has the infernalis and I'd be surprised if he doesn't still have some concinnus tucked in there somewhere. I imagine he still must have the tetrataenia?

I've been so busy lately but this will be some motivation to make time to pick up the phone and harass an old man with some 'worthlesser' talk ;)

I seriously doubt those snakes represent the ssp. accurately. Those are extraordinary individuals that are likely a result of captive breeding/selection. In other words, don't expect to find concinnus looking like that in the wild or you will be disappointed.

Even this spectacular individual isn't red. And concinnus of this "flashy" nature seem to be confined to a very small area of Oregon.(Benton County)
