I've noticed in the last week a number of my baby radixes are starting to get some good red color on their flanks. I even have 2 babies from my Nebr. albino radix turning red.
For once in my life it's good to be in the red. Photos to follow.

That's very cool! I love red.... even my normal girl radish has a red stain to her body.
Question though, where was the albino radix found? She may be the same type of albino as the nebraska (we won't know until it is tested down the line) but you should define her separately from the Nebraska albinos. You could either label her as say, a Guido albino (haha), or, a "County where she was found" Albino. Whatever the case you want to keep it separate and pure from the other two strains of albino radix. Take one of her male offpsring and breed him to her. That will be your only way of getting pure strain babies. If you breed her to a nebraska albino the resulting babies, even if they are albino, will no longer be pure! It would be sad to lose this separate line!!! Then, when you get pure strain babies that are albino from her, you can maybe do a test breeding to a nebraska male to see if they are compatible strains. But don't do it until you have the separate line proved out and secure! And when you do that test breeding, if the resulting babies are albino, you would call them something like Guido x Nebraksa albinos. :D

No reason to be confused. She is a W/C from Nebr. She's my only albino radix, at this time.

you will never find me Steve. You won't even notice I am there. In fact, while you are sleeping that particular radix will be replaced with this replica which I sculpted myself to look EXACTLY like her:

I'm going to get some photos on Sat. and try to get them posted then. I'm spending all day Sunday in Des Moines at the reptile show to spread the good news about radixes and all garter snakes. :D

Here is one of my baby red radixes that I am watching very closely.
As she matures I hope the red on her face will spread. She's a great little female. Sorry about the dirty mouth, she was eating when I decided to get a few photos.
