after yesterdays post and pic of the eastern i found i went back out to a friends spot in norristown,PA that ive never been to and this was a total goldmine for your average agarter lover.
it was an ols abandoned mental hospitol with a creek next to it with a abandoned baseball field, couple scouts up the creek and baseball field revealed about 40 garter snakes , about 30 adults and 10 babys probly from last years litter (obviously) . and handfulls of northern redback salamanders with about 10 storeria sekayi snakes ,adults. and a few newts in the mix around thw aters edge .no pictures from yesterday , i was too buisy to even take my camera out , we were there for all of 45 minutes and we didnt even hit up some of the spots .

well yesterdays spot was a hidden kinda preserved area my friend knows of and it was 50 degrees for the last 3 weeks or so and yesterday was thefirst 70 degree day that actualy almost got up to 80 in my town . so evrything was emerging , it was the christmas of all gartersnake lovers .
handfuls and handfulls , we put them all in bags as we caught em so we didnt find the same one twice just to see how many we could get and i loved seeing a giant ball of garters just slither away , and a few of em slithered into some foliage together and were looking ike there bout to get funky, the garter ball we seen we didnt touch , i know you wouldnt want someone barging in on you when your with your ole lady .
youjust gotta be at the right spot at the right time i guess
its very trashy down here and all these creeks are polluted, only things ucatch are garters, watersnakes and redbacked salamanders, the waters too pulluted for anytype pf aquatic salamanders round here.

What were they doing when you found them? Moving? Basking? Hiding? Also, thanks for sharing the pictures.

Was that question directed to me or ClosedCasket? I couldn't tell. The one in the picture and the one I just found were basking near a creek.

Sorry, I was asking about your picture, Serpentine.

BTW: Have the keyboard gremlins attacked again, or is your name spelled, "Larwence?" It's spelled that way in your public profile. If it's a typo, maybe Jason (Boots) could help you.

No, Parkesburg. Farm country. I used to live in Coatesville and lets just say the water wasn't the reason we moved out of the City.

No, closedcasket, i never really have a lot of finds around my area. It's funny though because when I visit other places it's like their attracted to me. Maybe it's my woods i look in.
