I saw a video the other day where a large boa gave birth and ate her jellybeans (the unfertilized eggs) afterwards. Would it be a good idea to leave the jellybeans in the aquarium with a mother garter snake so she can eat them? Has anybody tried feeding them to their snakes?

Thank you! :)

I wouldn't bother. It seems unlikely that the female would eat them.

Can you feed them to other snakes though? I know most corn snake breeders get a king snake to make use of the unfertilized eggs & any badly kinked, or otherwise unhealthly babies. Wonder if a king would take unfertilized garter eggs?

Most likely, yes, but I would not get a kingsnake just for that purpose or he would go awfully hungry!! :D... if you already have one though... I have always been a fan of recycling.

I think one of the reasons breeders get a king snake is because the idea that having one to recycle things makes a great excuse to buy another snake!:p
