These beautiful snakes arrived safe and sound this morning. I adopted them from k2l3d4(Lady Kady). What an honor to be caring for these special snakes.
Thank you Kady for your trust in me.;) You did a great job packing them. I will keep you updated on the how they are doing.
The trio(Little Dude, Hudinie, Rescue) all say hello.
Now the Ranch has Checkered Garters. Time for another addition to the floor plan. Now, where to get the money:confused::D
I am a blessed man.

I applaud you for stepping up to give the trio a great home. They are very lucky, I'd like to see if any personality traits you find compairing with your radix's? I have 4 T.marcianus albinos and 2 hets about the same age and the albino's are voracious where the hets are very timid.

I don't worry about numbers. Just they are being cared for properly.
Anyway the number might cause me to vaporlock.:D The unexpected number of rescued gravid females this year really sent the numbers up.

One thing I do know it's under 1000.:D

After arriving I let these great snake relax, but tonight orientation started. They were given a tour of the Ranch and introduced to the Staff. Then it was off to the intake room.
First up was Little Dude.

Looks like they are sleeping in this morning. They spent most of the night swimming or just checking out the new digs. I gave them the large Oceanic enclosure. Hoping they will get up for breakfast in a bit.
Thanks again Kady.

LOL... Hudinie being good?! That is one that I will not believe.... normally he is trying to escape, or just find a spot to hide at that one would never think to look :) I am so glad to see Rescues weight.... She was so very tiny just a few months ago.... And Litte Dude likes to kick it in the pockets of a hoody sweatshirt. He is so very docile.... And was Little Dude and Rescue actually swimming... The very rarely swam in their water bowls when they were here,.... now Hudine will live int he water if one lets him.... One time I had a water fountain in the tank and I would have to take him out from time to time because he always wanted to stay there. And I think that you have Little dude and Rescue labeled backwards.... Rescue has the bigger head and wider girth then Little Dude.

guidofatherof5
10-04-2009, 11:39 AM
Sorry about the labeling mistake. I thought rescue was the smaller of the two albinos. I'll have to change the records and intake photos.:D

k2l3d4

She originally was but as she has been 'brothers... that and her tail is a dead give away. lol... That or just put her next to Hudinie and see if he leaves her alone :) She has been hogging all the Pinkies since I rescued her.. and so she has been growing quite fast. I think that from just holding her she might still be a bit shorter then Little Dude, but her head is quite bigger. How are they adjusting and was all fine with their stress levels from shipping?

Everything seem to be fine. They are cruising their new enclosure, learning all the hides. The ends of this Oceanic enclosure are screened doors. They spend a lot of time at the doors since that where they can catch the most smells. I'm about to thaw out some pinkies and start my Sunday feed. I'll let you know what happens.

Rescue gave a couple pinkies a little Smackdown tonight. The other two are still settling in. Maybe they will eat while I'm feeding others.

Yep... that is little miss piggy for you!.... Little dude has never hit anything if it is moving while Hudinie is a bit tempermental ans somethimes wants the pinkie moving and other times does not, but he is a shy eater... He will try to avoid eating if he knows you are there..... If little dude gives any troubles... normally he will hit a feeder fish, and Hudinie's likes to go fishing in the middle of the night, and only likes the gold feeders. He really is picky.

Hi mom,
Steve said I had to send you a picture of me after my shed. He said I look beautiful(yuck). I do feel better, now.
Steve said he was going to leave me some pinkies and worms out tonight. That way if I get hungry during the night I can eat. Well, it's time for bed and Steve is strict about bedtime.
He says, "radixes should get a good nights sleep if they want to grow up big and strong" Well, I do want to get big so you will be proud of me, so I better get to bed. Talk to you later.

Kady,
You told me Rescue would eat everything but I had no idea it would be this much. I placed 5 pinkies in a dish for her and little Dude to enjoy.
She ate them all. It looks like Little Dude is the only holdout. I may have to move Rescue out to give him a chance at some of the food.
I also think Hudinie ate some nightcrawler pieces tonight. His belly looked fuller and he was rubbing his face like he just had a good meal.
I had Little Dude out tonight. He is a great, calm little guy. I think he would have stayed out all night if I had let him.

Yeah.. Little Dude would have!. He has the same temperment as a very docile ball python..... He is the one that I have taken to my son's preschool for a presentation. He sat in my sweatshirt pocket or three hours while we were waiting for our turn, and he totally was cool with it.... :) And yes Rescue is the biggest litte pig ever!

Steve,
How are the Three little muskateers doing? Has Little Dude eaten yet? Any pics by chance of the three little ones?

Here's a photo from this morning. Gabby got Rescue out to give her a break from being chased by Hudinie. That boys only got one thing on his mind.
Gabby let her lay on a heating blanket. Rescued snuggled in and watch a western with us. Don't worry she's not spoiled.:D

Hudinie has figured out he can eat and try to mate with Rescue. That way he can keep his strength up:D

Little Dude is still a holdout on eating. He still looks great and seem fine. I'm not worried that he hasn't eaten yet.

I don't understand, they never musk me:D

While I typed this post Hudinie gave me the "give me a worm look". I went and grabbed one and he met me at the door. Took it very nicely. He's a real gentlemen. He ate 3.
I think Little Dude must be eating when I'm not looking since his weight isn't down very much.
All three are wonderful. Must be their upbringing;)

Hey! $25? I know that post is old, but who's got albino checkereds for me? *sniff*

marcianus is one of the garters I was hoping to acquire in 2010. Might as well be an albino or two if they are that affordable!

Got a tank ready for a pair of concinnus, another tank ready for some checkereds, and another ready for some of Steve's radixes. I'll have to get another one for some ordinoides, and that should do it. MAYBE I'll stop there. I'm hoping I have the strength to stop there. Getting so many setups for so cheap on craigslist, it's easy to get carried away. Oh, and found really cheap packages of 100 frozen pinkies delivered to my door. They're going to be fat, sassy garters in my house, that's for sure.
