I was on my feeding rotation in the nursery, feeding one group of babies. While watching over the feed I glance over at the group next door. Those babies had their little faces pressed against the glass watching their friends eat. Some of them were looking at me like "I'm starving here, how about some food"
I love watching these babies develope. They are smart little scrubs.

This observation isn't age specific. Last night I was feeding a group of young snakes when I looked over to the other enclosure to see Honda watching the young ones eat.
I opened her enclosure and she made short work at getting over to this side. Once on this side she sat and let me hand feed her. These were little chunks cut for small snakes and Honda was carefully taking them from me as not to bite me.
This group I was feeding was my radix/parietalis mix. A few of the radixes didn't want to venture into the food dish, so they let me hand feed them.

That is hilarious. One of the reasons I love garter snakes so much. It's moments like that, and I just don't see that with any other kind of snake. I have noticed that when I bring some fish into the room to feed my big girls, Amy smells the fish, comes out, and watches the big girls eat since their tanks are end-to-end and they can see each other. No doubt she is thinking of how to take advantage of this frenzy and steal a scrap or two.:D
