I've been taking pictures again guys.
Some of these pictures will be printed (20x30 cm, good quality) and will be for sale on different reptileshows here in Europe...You get to be the judges

First, something old...My good old white background

The 'new style': fast shutter time + flash?

Good pictures, but it's not really something I like. I liked the white background more ;)

Thanks for the feedback Hans.
Pictures with white backgrounds will be printed as well ;)

The new style is balancing snakes on thin sticks with a black background.
I might look for some sticks or twigs with more green growing on them. To add more color to the picture and have a nice balance between light and dark...

I like all of them! The red snake against the black background is REALLY contrasting and looks fabulous. I agree that if you added green leaves (the complementary color of red) it would make it even more stunning.

The only criticism I have, is that the photos look a little too contrived on such a plain background. If you put some out-of-focus, dark, shadowy plants in the background, it could be even better. Then again, I'm speaking as an artist and not a photographer. :)

One more, just for fun.
A bit more out of focus stuff in the background (Snakes are so much fun playing with your DOF)

More will follow, but I got to get ready for the Hamm tomorrow.

Very nice! I like the way the snake is positioned, the tongue position worked out well, too.
