I've been approached about boarding someone's blood python, and I've got no idea what to charge
I realize that a lot of it depends on the size and disposition of the animal - details that I haven't been given yet - any suggestions though?

Well, Rhea, I don't know what typical "snake board" goes for, but do NOT sell yourself short. Make sure that if it's an animal with a bad attitude (as blood pythons have a reputation for) you charge enough to compensate for the extra time required and the risk you'll be taking. That could be a very large snake, able to do lots of damage. And ensure that the owner provides a sturdy lockable enclosure if its a big "bad" snake.

So this does beg the question, what is "standard" rate for boarding a snake???

There is an association of Kennels that provides certifications and such, even for exotic animals, so I'm guessing they would have some references or resources to determine what to charge. I don't remember the exact name of it but I'm sure it'll pop up on a google search.

Good luck with it!

thanks Stephi
I spoke with the guy and quoted him $60 per month
the snake sounds a bit more high maintenance than mine are, and I feel that this is as low as I want to go, but I did tell the owner that this was my first time boarding and that this is just a figure off the top of my head
"Rudy" is apparently very "friendly", and he gets handled every day, so he stays that way. I need to clarify the expectations around that, because that level of attention becomes almost like a dog walking gig
