View Full Version : Baby Garters and a BIG surprise!

Well last night my Female Eastern gave birth to 13 babies 7.6 and I actually found what looks to be a Granite Eastern Garter in the clutch! It looks completely different than all the others. She lacks head pattern. instead of black it is brown Faded into brown. Does anyone have pics of unusual garters?

I just looked at the normals next to the unusual female. She looks to be a hypoish snake

Hi David! I caught this female two summers ago

she did have 5 babies but none of them ever made it. I have her slated to breed this coming season. two of her babies appeared to be a bit lighter and with that same similar dark streak on their heads as mom. I just recently caught a baby male eastern that has a pale appearance with a black streak on his head. We will see how he turns out!

Well the color is really washed out all the otehr babies have black with the classic yellow stripe down the back. But Oh well. i may get picking up a albino checkered pair this weekend

that there appears to be a perfectly normal eastern :D
she is neat looking though, it's cool when they come out with the squiggles on their heads. I noticed the florida easterns tend to do that a lot!

Well I guess she is a normal but she is still gonna be one of my holdbacks! Her siblings look more uniform though. She is randomness!

I know it is always special when you get just one thats different from all the rest.... that is how I end up with a lot of my snakes...!!!
