well today I went herping and i saw my neighbors chicken with something black in her mouth so i ran over and sure enough it was an eastern garter snake so I brought the snake over to my house and put paper towels for a substrate paper towel rolls, pvc pipe, and plant pot huts for hides with a big plastic water dish I tired worms and put in a minnow and showed no interest in worms but idk aboutthe minnow il have pictures of her(I sexed her)and pictures of the enclosure tommorow when my camera is done charging, so I was asking everyone if every thing sound ok about her enclosure and her oh yeah she is also about a foot long does this mean she is a yearling or even older?

Good save! Hopefully she'll be ok. Your set up sounds fine. Don't worry about food just yet. She's going to need some time to settle down after that ordeal! Wouldn't you? lol

Under most circumstances you don't need to brumate garters unless you're breeding them.. in which case, she's too small anyway :) She may go off feed this winter on her own and based on her condition at that point you can decide whether she needs to be brumated or not.
