It started yesterday and continues today. All snakes are headed to the basement. This will make life easier on me and the snakes. It also gives me back a bedroom up stairs for my two youngest. It might also open my house up to some relatives on my X's side who have stopped coming to birthday parties because of my scrubs.(I didn't make the move for them)
I'm not sure how I'm going to get the 6 foot lond display case down the basement steps:rolleyes:
The big room will be for breeding projects and adult living space. The small room will be the nursery. Space under the step will be the quarantine room.
If I survive I'll post some photos later.:D:(

I wanted to set up a snake room in my basement but we have wild garters living in our basement so I'm not sure if that would be a good idea...

The process continues. The 2 display case enclosures are out of the room and waiting for their descent to the basement. Taking a break to setup some bunk beds and move dresser into the new girls room. Now the basement(den) will belong to me and my snakes. Happy happy, joy joy.:D

I have learned that a 6 foot long dispaly case will not fit around a tight corner. The only thing that can be done is to stand the case up on its end(impossible since the stress will be in the glass), pull the bottom out and start it down the steps, keeping the top from smashing the wall and also contolling it as to not let it run me over and kill me. Keep in mind I have to do this all by myself as my kids are to young to help.
Solution: Sell it on Craigslist. That was easy.

My Husband, Steve, (who is very good at this sort of thing) says you have to stand it on its end, keep the base on the stairs and tape all the glass before you move it in case it does break.
PS: Best thing, try & find a friend to help... Can you slide it on the base until the bottom where you need to make the corner and then stand it up for the corner?

Am I becoming that predictable?
Another solution: call neighbors and say, "Free snake-removal services for the next year if you help me with these cases."

Yes, you played right into my hands. Your picture was just what I thought you'd post. Thanks.
Free snake removal for a year. Sounds tempting. I could use a few more radixes here at the Ranch.:D

Steve... sounds like a wonderful idea... now if I had a snake den. I am afraid that the world and my son would never see me :) I would be having to much fun with the snakes ;)

I know how you feel.
My job is really getting in the way of my snakes. I need more time with them.:D

The job is done. All but one small Oceanic still has to go down but that a 2 minute job. I had already listed the display case on craigslist when LeAnn's(Mommy2many) husband suggested I take the case apart. I thought that would be too big a job. I gave it a try and with the help of my son Kale, we got it to the basement and re-assembled it. Snakes are happy to be back in it. Thought I would have some new radixes today but the mom is still cooking. They have dropped and I think within the next 24 hours they will be here.
To tired to go on, Going to sleep now.

Here I am inspecting feeding dishes. We don't want any dirty plates when it comes to eating worms. I hope you enjoyed this small glimps into the Ranch. I'm sure I'll come up with more photos later.:D
