i think i just caught one it has a red tongue a red belly and red stripe on its side is that what a flame is

okay its not flame i think cause the red stripe doesnt connect to the head or the belly that tough

he looks like this but as a eastern garter snake so no white stripe on top and a tinted red belly

the one in the pic is a red sider, parietalis....need photos of your snake...and where was it found.

it was found in clyde new york and my brother said he will take a pic later so i wont release him yet

ok see the pic you posted before is from a red sided....if you in NY it is defenetly 100% NOT a red sided...you need to post a pic of the actual snake in hand not some random pic lol..
