Hello everyone! I'll just tell a little about myself, then I have a number of questions but I'll go post those in the right section. I've had garters before, but they were 3 WC ones we found when my brother was 12 & I was 10. Two were young, about 10"-12" when we found them & the other was 3' & as it turned out, female. My Mother doesn't like big snakes so she was okay with the little ones, but never did like the big one. It was quite neat, I'd watched a show on snakes that talked about live birth & sperm retention & about a week later walked into the room where the big one was & there were 11 little 5" baby snakes! We'd had that snake for a year, in it's own cage & would have been quite puzzled how that happened if I hadn't just watched that show! That however was the last straw for my Mom & all of them got let loose at the marshy area close to our house. I currently have 3 corns, one Classic, Tavi & two Phantoms, Vash & Stormy. I'd bought a really nice 10 gallon snake tank when I got the first corn & decided I wanted a snake that would be able to stay in this tank, so started looking at small snakes & I'm about 99% decided on a male garter. Sorry for the long post! I'll also apologize in advance for my spelling & grammar, I'm dyslexic & sometimes don't catch my mistakes.

Is Vash, perchance, named after the Humanoid Typhoon?

I live in a little tiny town outside of Pocatello. Vash was actually named after two people/things in two different books. One was one of the cover names of a spy that was like a phantom in how he could change his appearance, "Vashlin Thackery, but my friends call me Vash." The other was a dragon in a book by Mercedes Lackey, "Joust". I thought that was an appropriate name for a phantom corn.

There certainly are many little towns! Well I was going to ask quite a few questions, but by searching around I found answers to most of them already. Not sure this is exactly the right area to ask some of my remaining questions, but here goes. What is everyone's opinion of Puget Sound > sirtalis pickeringi vs. True Blue Striped > sirtalis similis? Does pickeringi usually get more colorful? How about temperment? And anything else you can think of that they might differ on. Thanks!
