Currently only have 3 garters but what the heck I'll join the crowd and make a thread.
All 3 cuddling:

The only real tame one of the group:

The super skitso aggressive one:

The one that has been through hell, missing bit of tail, and the rest of the stub is pretty scarred up, escaped death!

All 3 again:

I believe all 3 to be T. elegans vagrans, but if anyone else can shed some light and confirm that would be great. All found at varying elevations in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

I agree, they all seem to be vagrans.

As I suspected, such a diverse species, so many colors I've found and each one is so different.
I just hope the biggest one doesn't decided to turn her jumpiness into aggressiveness and take my face off lol.
We'll see what I manage to find after I go herping tomorrow, I finally found my first non-garter in the wild, a black racer, and fastest snake ever, barely got away..
Such a shame, I have 3 30 gallon bins to fill!

Sounds like diverse attitudes also. Good looking group. Thanks for posting.

Some nice looking vagrans there, beware of their cannibalistic tendancies!

I've kept lots of wanderings all my life, and from what I've seen, as long as I keep them all well fed and healthy, they do fine together, one will be released tonight so it will only be the 2 larger ones together, now to get them to take the fish I'm offering...

Well bad news today, was feeding my bull and my garters some mice and I noticed the injured garter not moving around. I picked her up and she was slightly bloated and was only moving her neck and head. I felt she was suffering and did the right thing and put her down quickly rather then dieing slowly like she was. Upon inspection of her she had a few injuries on her head and several around her lower body, her vent looked healthy when I got her but she was really squirming and wouldn't let me get a good look. Seems she got into a bad fight with something and lost, her vent inside was caked with blood, and had a big hunk of her side damaged decently, seems nothing I could really do.
Jeeze that blows sorry for your lost

sorry to hear
any idea how she might have come by those injuries?

I am unsure how the snake received the injuries, they looked almost like burns, or she had been bitten up by something and barely gotten away. I could not however afford a bet and I figured it was better for her to be in my care with lots of comfort than a slow death in the wild.
Now I'm left with one, the cannibal here took 5 fuzzies and an extra pinkie that my nile didn't want.

Was cleaning out the tank today in preparation for the male and the smallest female to hopefully go off to a new home tomorrow and had all 4 in my hand decided to take a picture:

Still waiting on the biggest to pop and the second largest female is showing signs of being gravid as well... Oh boy!
