Me and my dad went herping today and found more than 25 melinistic garters and this, its more orange but its stressed so get more pics.

Hope these help need anymore shots just ask me. And if there are any specific area of the body (Head, Eye) just ask.

Where did you find it? Knowing your location helps narrowing it down.

looks like an eastern to me.... but can't be sure with out the location...

Is it from the great lakes region?There are a lot with red orange coloring up there.

Hey guys i found it in sounthern central ontario, toronto. and no i did not keep any melinistics, and i aslo let it go but i took more pictures if you need. in the pictures i took does have show all of the orange. so i will describe it for you guys. from the middle of the bodie to under the belly its orange, and it has sorda of a green in between the orange and the top stripe.

When it is from Central Ontario, it has to be a T. s. sirtalis.

As others have said, it's an Eastern - specifically a non-melanistic version of the other garters you were finding.
They vary quite a bit - here's a Cleveland-area orange specimen.
