i'm still working on getting the individual pics and sexing them...... may not be able to get it all done for about 2 weeks....... finals are next week and i've got a zillion projects due friday.... plus the 4 non eaters take about 2 hours to hand feed..... every other day..... and i've got work and life guarding and well needless to say it's a little hectic around here trying to do all that plus care for 31 snakes........ 1.1 are already taken plus the 4 non eaters the paralyzed one and the runt......

so i finally got the time to sex the babies... there are 23 males and 3 females... and all 26 have now eaten on their own!!

while gravid she had a warm side of about 70 and a hot side of about 90... but i found that she spent a lot of her time on the warm side.. she was eating worms, fuzzy mice and tailapia fillet... but mostly fuzzies

sadly i just discovered the runt dead in the cage.... he's been going downhill the past week so i'm not surprised..... but sad nonetheless.... he just never grew and thrived like the rest... no matter how much extra food and care i gave him..... aaa well...... he had a good life... even though it was way too short... RIP little guy.

Oh, that's a shame! But as a bunch, they are so cute I can hardly stand it! Does anyone know when it would be normal for wild garters to have young? I want to keep my eye out, I fear the little guys will not be as skilled as the adults at getting in and out of the house while avoiding the cats. It would be a shame for them to end up as cat snacks!

or maybe I am seeing things in the hopes to find a friend for my checkered female :P
