Here she is. I call the JW since she's from Winterset, Ia. Let me explain. John Wayne was born in Winterset. JW. She's a great girl. Now, if I only had a male.

Very pretty. It just seems a bit odd to see a garter other than a radix in a post from you!!

Congrats on the new addition! Be careful Steve you may end up with 150+ of those in no time also.

You're telling me. I did a lot of thinking before I said yes. Once I saw her I had flashbacks to my Canada Narcisse trip and couldn't turn her down. She reminds me of that very first snake we incountered when we arrived at the dens. I've had these before. Two years ago I had 3 female stay the summer with my family. Kind of like exchange students.
She's beautiful and a welcome addition to the ranch.
I don't see the T.radix Ranch name changing as my focus will always be with them.
My radixes won't allow it and neither will I.

I will post much better photos in the future. She's a big girl as deserves better.

Can't happen Thomas. I told her not to breed. So that problem is solved, right:rolleyes:

*Update*

I was delivered a group of snakes yesterday and fail to notice a baby(female) T.sirtalis parietalis in the group. She's already eating worms and is wonderful. I'll get a picture posted of the little beauty in a day or so.

The little man took a pinky from my son last night. He's doing just fine.
I heard him doing the wolf whistle at his new girlfriend. He's such a good boy.

Why didn't someone tell me T.s.parietalis multiply so fast. 2 weeks ago I had none now I have 4(3 female, 1 male)
When I got home from work today there was a brown bag on my front steps. Here's what was inside, a beautiful female. Other than a stub tail she's perfect.

nice looking snake!!!!

Don,
Tonight one of my students called and said they needed my address. They had a "Gardner Snake" snake that was injured and wanted to bring it to me. I first told them I had never seen a gardner snake before. They laughed and corrected themselves. I alway correct them in class when they make that mistake.
30 minutes later they pulled up in my driveway. Mom brought the young man to my door and apologized for interupting my evening. She said her son told her that I would know how to help the snake.
In the bucket was a gravid(?) dark phase radix. He said she had a cut back by her tail............ Yep, you guessed it. No cut at all, just an extended cloaca after musking. Seen it a thousand times before. Smelled it, also.
I assured him she would be fine and thanked him for being so concerned about her.
So, now one more mouth to feed and feed she did. The ranch is filling up. Everyone of them special in their own way. Life is good.

Ok... The guy has Radix's all over his yard, has friends find him wild albinos, and drops beautiful red-sideds on his front porch. I think this is a conspiracy! Or maybe the best of luck? LOL!
