Thought I would post a photo of the backyard here at the T.radix Ranch. Wish you could all come and visit. Plenty of radixes to go around.:D

This is why it's called the T.radix Ranch. One place, one group.

Holy tamole! So are the 114+ you have listed in the yard, or are those inside, and you still have the roaming masses?

Jason,

My 114 was before my last two groups of babies. I'm at about 150, now. That's not counting anything on the outside.
I've got radixes everywhere. I walked around my house right at sundown and counted 5 roamers. They were coming out to do a little hunting. I'm going out to collect some worms and will probably run into a number of them.

"Is this Heaven? No, it's the T.radixes Ranch"

Steve, I am beginning to believe you are Superman! You're an amazing Dad to your kids, look after all those snakes and still have such a beautiful back yard. Incredible! You put us to shame! You have a magic wand, right? Or are there more hours in a day in Steveland?

It's called Mother Nature. This time of the year everything looks great but then we get into a run of high 90's or 100 degree days and the yard goes brown and it looks a lot different.

My secret is all the fertilizer the radixes put down:D

Found this big male sunning himself in the garden this morning. While checking him over I found what at first looked like dried poop or mud around his cloaca. I gave him a bath and cleaned that area up. I found he has a small infection.
He'll spend a little time in the infirmary until this gets cleared up. Hopefully one shed cycle. I'm hoping it's just a surface/scale infection and not something that will require a Vet visit.

Hope it's not an STD.......(snake tranmitted disease):D

He's not happy.
Rubbing cream twice a day on his private area is making him cranky.
I think he'd rather be outside taking care of business.

We were supposed to get 1 inch of snow. By Saturday morning we had 4.5 inches. I think the radix season is about over. I hope all the scrubs found a warm place for the Winter. I'm already looking forward to the great masses of radixes next Spring. I went out today and moved a wood pile and collected about 50 slugs. This snow will be gone in a day or so and I will make a big push to collect as much free food as I can.
This year will be different as I can now buy worms wholesale. No more Walmart. I have to buy 500 at a time but the savings is substantial.

Wow, snow already! I'm complaining cause I'm cold here and it's been low 60's as a high.

Great picture! Love to see it at someone elses house! Only kidding, I really do love the first snows. After New Years, it can all go away and be spring again.

Hey Steve,
It's so awesome you rescued this little guy, what ever happened to him?

Once his recovery was complete I took a long hard look at him and kept him. He's a strong, healthy, handsome male and will do well as a radixes ranch stud.
He calmed down so well and really took to the "Good Life"
