Very cool, very early to see garters at the shows too. Yeh, I'd bet they're T.s.sirtalis, almost look like they could be Maritimes (T.s.pallidulus), but almost NO ONE works with them, so I'd be surprised to see them at a show.

You know they actually kind of look like the Easterns (T.s.sirtalis) that Scott Felzer has. Wonder if they came from his stock????
That's what I thought Roy ... that they look like Scott Felzer's stock. Very nice looking babies !!!

I sent Scott a link to the pictures and here's his response:
"The link you sent looks like they may be the West Virginia garter babies I had a few years ago. They were quite beautiful, lost the adults from them and wish I had more of them to work with."
So there, Ryan.
When they make babies, I definitely would like a couple.

actualy ide rather sell my babies to my thamnophis friends on this site than at shows , i breed garters just for fun outa love n fascination of these guys , all my other snakes i love but there more a collection and way of imcome to help my @*** eat and pay bills ,
garters are awesome , they could be the pickiest ,highest needing reptile and i would still have a million , there not like normal coulubrids that for sure, all my pride n joy's out of my collection of reptiles are my garters .
gotta love em

I couldn't agree more. I've kept literally hundreds of species over the past forty years, but I always come back to Thamnophis. They're just in a class of their own, nothing compares!
