So I have always heard that garters like to escape...but not mine, right?

On Saturday night Sugar had a full moon adventure!
Squeezing out through an unfastened screen top space, he knocked off a ruler (used to deter sleeping cats atop his tank) then had unknown adventures before ending up behind old science encyclopedias on the floor in another room where all 7 cats sleep!
Luckily the three legged kitten alerted me immediately of his whereabouts in the morning so we could find Sugar before the cats-
I think he was out hunting for the worms. I have noticed much more nocturnal activity after increasing the amount of nightcrawlers in his diet.

He's back and fine now:)

Good save Jen,
They are little escape artists.
If you think you have things secured they show you otherwise.

Thanks! Yes, I can't believe the tiny hole he fit through! I feel thankful that I had my three legged kitten around who alerted me to him, who has a special connection with him (they were adopted the same week).

My animals are often my first eyes and ears! cheers:p

Yes, Sugar is like their TV. They are obsessed from a distance.
They got tired of the aquarium ages ago.
I am glad too:)
thanks

Thanks!
Me too, I love the little guy. But, boy, now that he has tasted freedom he is trying to get out all the time now! I take him out of his tank everyday supervised, even outside where he climbs in the avocado and sits on the lily pad in the pond..but may have to step it up to satisfy his longings. Or maybe it is that 'spring fever' i've seen some of you all mention-

thanks for caring - we would have about 200 crying children if they knew he got lost. he is such a superstar at my school-he has been making appearances so the kids can draw him

thanks - i'll be more diligent with closing my pet snake's tank. last week i found a wild reddish and white garter baby outside in my garden that is fenced to keep the feral chickens and cats out. hope he keeps to himself too. i know his log so can go out and visit him.
