I just learned as of right now, that my birthday present this year from my boyfriend is $400 of snakes from Scott Felzer, but this time I get to pick what I want!!! How cool is that?! I love him. but anyway, to keep this short, I am in a serious debate with myself. I was thinking at first of going with a pair of flames, het for leucistic. Then, I saw the Silver easterns. Since they are kind of pricey, I was thinking what if I got a male silver, and a female 100% het silver. But now I am totally torn between these two choices. I am thinking, maybe I should opt for the silvers because that would be something totally new and unique to my collection, since I already have two female flames. But then on the other hand, I love the flames and the super cool leucistic flames even more. This would also allow me to acquire a male flame, which I need if I want to make ANY flames any time soon. But then again I know other people who should have some flames available this year and can always pick up one male separately, relatively cheap.
If you were in my shoes.... what would you do?! I am reaching out to you guys for some opinions... you all may end up choosing the next addition to my collection!!!

Flames are incredible and my fav! BUT I think adding diversity is awesome. I voted for the silvers. But the leucistic flames are killer and that would rock just as much!!

I LOVE that west virginia anery. love it. I thought about that too. Guys, I thought about it all day though and if I go with snakes it is going to be the silvers. The only thing is, we may change our minds altogether. I discussed possibly instead of actual snakes, that he buy the materials for the new vivarium stack I am preparing to build soon. It would cost about the same and would be such an improvement to the snakeroom. It would replace the stand that holds the two very large fish tanks. It would be 6 feet high, two feet wide, and 4 feet long. 4 cages, each approx. 1.5 feet high. Two of the cages will be divided, and two of them will be the entire length. I just don't know what the heck to do!!!

My 2 cents: If you are planning on breeding them, then I would opt for the flames mainly because I refuse to inbreed and get two females or however many. However if you're not then the silvers would be fantastic. Hope this helps....

I want to thank everyone for their input. After much deliberation, we are going to go with neither of those two pairs of snakes, but rather 1.1 Silver x West Virginia Anerythristic. My reason for this is that those are both morphs that I REALLY want, and this is a way to kill 2 birds with one stone. I can get both silvers and anery's out of a breeding like that, plus the possibility of getting the two morphs in the same snake is there also!

I am really excited about this box that will be coming from Scott this year. Inside of it will be:
1.1 Silver x West Virginia Anerythristic eastern
1.1 het hypo california red sideds
1.1 melanistic eastern
1.1 Nebraska Albino x High Red Plains
0.1 Similis
It's still a while away, as none of the babies are even born yet... but I can't wait!!!
