Thought I'd share our nightmare ...
The other night I looked into Panama's quaranteen tank and I couldn't see her anywhere.
Instantly worried, as she can always be seen poking her cheeky little face out from somewhere, I started poking about the substrate, checking the substrate and frantically heading for red alert!!!
Couldn't find the wee blighter!!!
The cat was thrown unceremoniously out of the living room and a frantic search of the tank area commenced.
Terri decided to check the tank again while I kept an eye on the cat incase our naughty ribbon had made it to the hallway.
30 seconds later Terri shouted for me ... I raced into the living room for her to show me this ....

She'd squished herself into the 'roofspace' of her hide  all that panic for nothing!!! We were in stiches because of her :D

Oh, that's so funny! I know it's not when your snake is "missing".....and even a little bit after, but I think they know what they're doing when they find their new spots. lol

haha!!! I love it when this happens. You panic. You freak. Your heart is racing as you frantically spray aspen across the entire room. your poor snake. with dogs, cats, and people running around... how will it ever live?!
Once, this happened to me and my mom, our beloved little graybanded kingsnake had "escaped". The cage was up high in the wood units. So we took out the hide and looked under the water bowl and ruffled the bedding... nothing. Searched for two hours. all over the house. sprinkled flour.... I went back in to grab the water bowl to put out on the floor.... turn out she was soaking in her water the whole time!!!! since the cage was up high neither of us could see into, or thought to look in it!!!! :D:D:D

I had that happen with Hudina .... . how do you think she got her name? She use to hide in this fake plant thing and it took me a couple of hours to find her.. finally figured out her spots and have not let her have too many itty bitty crooks and crannies with out me first checking them all out.

Oh, wie schoen ist Panama! ;)
Zulu used to squish herself into the roof space of her treehouse, too. I'm sure they play these tricks on us on purpose.

But it's a looong way away. At least three times twice as far as I thought!
