Eye Lens Problem.

Tonight, while doing a quick inspection of all my snakes I notice one of my females eyes. At first I thought it may be a retained eye cap but upon further inspection I'm not sure what the problem is. I do have a call into my Vet. for a tomorrow visit. I am very concerned about this situation and have never had any eye problems in my radixes before. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
The first photo of the right eye looks like a partially retained eye cap. My problem is I don't think an eye cap can be partially retained. At least I've never heard or read about that happening.

Canon Digital Rebel with a Canon Ultrasonic Macro Lens(EFS 60mm 1:2.8) and a lot of patients.
Luckly my girl was very cooperative.

I've seen dented eye caps before, which this kind of looks like.... as if the snakes' eye has been pressed against something. They generally seem to sort themselves out in a couple of days.

It actually looks very similar to poor Xerxes' eyes :confused: except without the fluid build up.

Just returned from the Vet. I had sent him an email with the photos earlier in the day. Good thing I did. My Vet was working with an eye specialist at the Zoo. They had an Bald Eagle with an eye problem. The specialist thinks it's retained eye caps(dysecdysis). They don't want to take any aggressive steps at this time since the steps required could cause permanent damage.
I'm to treat the eyes twice a day with mineral oil and put her in the shed box. They are both hoping she'll rub the old caps off or the next shed will remove them.
She's eating and appears to be handling the situation without much trouble. She is such a beautiful snake, I hope everything turns out okay.

This was all great news but it only got better. When I went to pay my bill. He told me "no charge". WOW. I didn't expect that. I'm very fortunate to have him in my corner and so are my radixes.

Today, the snake I named HK(Helen Keller) shed. She still has some lens problems but nowhere near the trouble in the photos. This shed was very interesting. According to my records she just shed 12 days ago. I'm guessing her body knew another shed was needed to help the eye problem. Something like the spontaneous shed they have when they get mites or ticks. Here I am a basket case about the eye problem and she kicks in another shed and the problem is basically over. These are such cool animals.
I would have liked posting a photo but she wouldn't allow it. Everytime I got the camera close to her she jumped away. Her vision must not be too bad.:)
