One of my double het for anerythristic and albino (het snow) red-sided had 17 babies last night on good friday, my wife and I went out to eat to have our last lenten fish supper(she's catholic, so I partake and enjoy the fish, I figure it's the least I can do since I raise and even propagate the "evil serpent",lol, nah they're just precious little god's creatures), but little did we know we were actually also celebrating the birth of our new babies as well, that we found when we got home. Ended up with 9 possible het snow normals, 4 anerythristics, and 4 albinos. Pretty surprised to see these guys so early, only about day 75 since breeding, only 1 stillborn and 1 jelly bean, but unfortunately didn't hit the odds on producing a snow (1/16 chance), and now the work begins, lol, but who's complaining, not me.

Thanks for all the very kind words guys AND GALS:) I think some of you know how much this particular litter means to me. This litter makes up for the tragedy I had last week (well for me anyway, I was very upset and depressed) of one of my snow radix females (Ruby, my favorite) having all stillborns. I think it is my fault for pushing her too hard and feeding her too much, but who knows, I knew I was taking a gamble, hoping that she would have a really large litter instead, but you live and learn and I don't think I will let a snake get that big again. As Scott Felzer told me on the phone this morning, this makes me "Even Steven", as taken from an episode of the TV sitcome "Seinfeld". Point well taken, we always have to continually count are blessings and get over the negatives. And I really have Scott to thank for even having the opportunity to produce such amazing creatures, as the parents are his stock. And hey I still have one more double het red-sided gravid female that might hit the odds and produce a snow. Finding these little surprise newborn "gifts of life" looking up at you when you come home from work or get up in the morning, really gets me "fired up" and I hope it does you all too.

There is NOTHING more exciting to me than newborn snakes!!! So young, so curious, so confused about why they are no longer snuggled up in a dark warm belly...and is there anything sweeter than getting to watch one take his first breath, and flick that tiny little tongue for the very first time?!?!

Kramer, err Jeff lol,
Congrats on your brood! By Seinfeld's "Even Steven", the other double het female should give you more than one snow :). Hopefully she'll produce some for you. In the unlikely event that she doesn't, I have been (attempting) to breed the double hets and it could be snowing here in North Carolina in June (hopefully) :).
