just curious of how it varies from person to person.
how often and how much I guess is what Im asking.

for those of you who feed your snakes worms especially but all are welcome to answer :)

If you're a worm feeder or your snake particularly likes worms or even if its all it will eat, how many worms during each feeding does your snake eat? :)

i'd assume it would deppend on the size of the worms and the size of the snake........

haha yeah I know.
thats why I said it was a broad question.
Im not asking so that I know how much to feed my snake lol I know size and even age/growth rate plays a factor in that but I was just wondering.
I find that the amount you feed a snake seems to effect their personality/energy level.
but I guess thats an obvious one.

oo lol i get it well i was feeding my 2 20 inch females 2 pinkies once a week and meadow my 32ish inch as many as she would eat which was hardly ever more than one or two.... now i feed my baby a worm, fish, or pink part every 2 days.... meadow 3 pinks twice a week and the littluns 1 pink twice a week:)

since i changed to twice a week i have seen a complete transformation in their activity levels..... i used to hardly ever see them out and now they're ALWAYS out!! i love it lol i thing meadow's activity level change may have something to do with wayne tho lol she hasn't acted like this in 2 yrs! since the last time she was pregnant...... o wiat!! it's 3 yrs! I always figure thats one of the main things to look for when questioning snakes changes in behaviour :)
snakems is out when I am haha... I think she sleeps when i do but when I first got her I would always hear her slithering around in her tank while I was sleeping. Now she's learned that if shes out and about showing herself off when Im in the room shes more likely to get handled and get a chance to get out of her tank which she has always seemed to relish. lol
also, she's never refused food and I think of course she associates me with that as well haha :)

My snakes have varying appetites...

But I have found that I'd rather overfeed a little than underfeed.

Garters are quite active, so they burn off the food quickly.

My non-Thamnophis snakes I feed a whole lot less often.

I feed my adults once a week, as much as they want. Since I started using the trout/gelatin mixture, I've noticed a real difference in activity level, and growth. Deejay's shed twice already, and is noticeably thicker.
I feed the babies twice a week, and they're growing like weeds. Inchworm is over a foot long, and Checkers is rapidly catching up.
I throw nightcrawlers in with all of them as a treat.
They all have slightly varying eating habits, so you kind of learn as you go how much and how often to feed.
