I picked up some boamaster cages at hamburg this weekend.I have to say that I am not that impressed with them. From being laser cut the wood is burned all around the edges. When you touch it you get black sout all over your hands.I still have not gotten it cleaned off.The price was good though.Pretty easy to put together.

Congrats on the cages, Tom. I would like to see a photo when you get on setup.

it's hard to see in the pic.But the dark edges are actually burnt wood from the laser cutting process. It smells like a fireplace too.I hope it goes away.

some female garters. Not right now though.I will wait until they get a little larger.I may divide it and put some males in.

Nice looking enclosure, Tom. One remedy for the laser cuts would be to seal the edges with polyurethane. That would seal off the burned smell and end the black getting on your hands. Just a thought.

That's a good idea. But, I would have liked it to have been done before I bought it.

Tom, have you taken your complaint to the company? I agree that it's an issue that should never have happened. I'm guessing they were in a hurry to get some out to that show or something, but whatever the excuse it's not right and reflects poorly on the company. What if you had white carpet? White leather seats in the car? Not fun.

I never looked at the other cages at the show.I will have to check into that.

I have to say quite the opposite about my experience with Boamaster... a solidly built rack that holds heat well, priced very affordably and I was rubbing the black sides of the wood and nothing was coming off? they did smell funny when I first brought them home, but that went away after a few days.

The smell finally went away inmy cages. They are starting to grow on me.Definitely worth the money once you get past the smell.
