as many of you know i have an 08 baby who was born quite late in the year... she is not wuite tame and often musks... she is around 18 inches and eats mostly worms with some mouse parts and taliapia.... she went into shed and stopped eating for the last 2 or so weeks.... i go to try and feed her today... she shed today and i picked her up because her shed was un sucessful and tore.... i removed the rest of the shed and while doing so a very red musk came out.....:( i also notice some more redish feces in the inclosure..... what do i do? she just ate which she hasn't done in a while so i doubt she's feeling too poorly... but i keep finding her slow to react about once a month due to what i'm guessing is dehydration.... after i find her like this i immediatly place her in the water dish till she drinks her fill then into a damp box for the night of a few hours.... i just thought it was dehydration... but could it be tied to the blood?

Obviously the blood in the faeces is a problem. I suggest consulting a vet.

You're not feeding the snake salmon or trout, are you?

Some Salmon contains red dye. To enhance its appearance. I have seen red in their stool before. Just an idea.
Since you say there are other symptoms I wouldn't call the Salmon the problem.
Vet. visit sound like it's called for.

idk anymore.... she is back to normal with in a days of these episodes..... i think they might just be her forgetting where the water bowl is...... i think it'll be ok once i get some substrate in there and make it easier to get into the water dish...... i'll keep an eye on her for a few days and if i see anything else right to the vet i go!:)

.... she went into shed and stopped eating for the last 2 or so weeks....

Now you're confusing me, Shanley.... She just ate salmon? Or she's not eating?

well i meant that she was eating very poorly for the last weeks... sorry..... i try to feed her every other day and for the last 2 weeks that fish was all that she's eaten.... and it was a small piece.... so i didn't count it... but then i forget that small for me is not small for her......

Right. Yeah, red faeces is normal when they're fed on salmon. Regular dehydration on the other hand is something that needs some attention.

i know..... i really need to pay more attention to her....... i put her in the water alot.... but i should prob do it every day from now on..... and i'm gonna go to a pet store tomorrow and get some care fresh so can have easier acces to the water dish.... i'll try putting a lower more textured dish in there too.... idk... maybe she just can't find it....??

What about the temperature in the enclosure? Any chance that it may be too high?
