i was watching some clips..... this snake looks alot like a dekayi but it's way too huge..... anyone know what it may be?

all the maritimes I have seen have minimal to no vertebral stripe...would say eastern, have seen easterns with minimal checkers like that..... kind of a beat up snake too!!!

those idiots are pestering a gopher snake....we do take calls on snakes (I am an animal control officer for those that don't know) I love to remove and release them elsewhere and educate people....and chew butts on those that kill snakes!!!! I also tell them it's a state law here that you can't indiscriminantly kill any reptile!!!! that gets their attention!!!! :cool:

you know, the funny thing about maritimes, is that I own two easterns that many people would mistake to be maritimes, they lack a vertebral stripe and have those surreal greenish and reddish tones that maritimes seem to flaunt... so what's the real deal with maritimes? Like I saw a maritime for sale on KS that was green with brick red spots, and I said omg, I think that guy stole Olivia!!! What are the anatomical differenced between the two?

T. ordinoides or T. elegans vagrans. Alberta is too far west for T. sirtalis pallidulus. And this one has that postocular stripe. My money would be on vagrans.

His profile says Wild Acres, google says there's such a place in Pennsylvania, which means that's most likely a T. sirtalis, although I wouldn't rule out T. radix. The stripe says T. s. sirtalis.
