So Beth and I are getting ready to head up to Council Bluffs, IA today to pick up our new radix from Steve this afternoon! I'm very excited. Lookin forward to meeting a fellow forum member/snake lover. I'll make sure and post some pics of the lil guy tomorrow after he's had some time to relax after his journey back home:)

Well we just got back. Guido is busy investigating his new surroundings. I'm sure he'll be pretty jumpy for the next week or so while he settles down. I'll have to upload pictures tomorrow. I'm kinda wore out from the six hours I've spent in the car this evening. And a big thanks to Steve and his family for their gracious hospitality and generosity in letting us care for one of their little ones.

Well here's a couple of pics from yesterday and this morning. The first two are of one of Steve's enclosures and his gargantuan girl Speckle. I probably misspelled her name. Sorry Steve. I wish everyone could get a chance to see her in person. She's giant. I never knew garters got that size! The picture does not do her justice. Anyways here are some photos. Hope you enjoy!

Guido checking out his new digs. He felt the need to come right up to the glass for a close up:)

Sad day for Sku. Guido spent the night in Sku's favorite coconut hide. Hopefully they learn to share.

That's great. I've always got a couple hanging around. If I need to I'll go to the door and call a few in. Around my yard I feel like the pied piper of radixes. Thinking about putting a little entrance door somewhere. Kind of like a doggy dog but for snakes.

Thanks for the pictures!
How is Sku taking in the new roommate?
Any pictures of them together?

They're doing so so. Sku is curious about him but a little hesitant to interact too much. Probably because Guido is about three times as thick. But I'm sure they'll be buds before long. I think he'll relax once Guido gets more comfortable with his new home.

So good news! Guido ate three pinkies this afternoon when I came home from work. And is now quite enamored with me. He comes right out when I walk up to the viv now and asks, "Where's my dinner?" I try to tell him that he just ate but I don't think he wants to hear it:) Oh and Sku is no longer afraid of him. Guido went for a drink after his dinner and slithered next to and right on top of Sku and Sku just kinda looked at him and said, "Do you mind? I'm tryin to sleep here."

Great. I'm glad he has seltted in so fast for you. He was always a good eater here. Don't spoil him. I never spoiled him when he was with me

So I've been kinda concerned about the fact that Sku and Guido haven't been interacting since I brought Guido home. They always seem to be on opposite sides of the enclosure or in separate hides. Which I'm pretty sure is not normal since all the pics I see on here have the snakes all in a big pile. That was until I came home to this earlier this week. Apparently they've settled their differences and are buds now:)

Boy, that Guido is a sharp looking young male.:)
Looks like one of those T.radix Ranch snakes.:D
I think they have come to an agreement on housing.
Nice job, Patrick and Beth.

So Guido shed for the first time since I got him a couple of days ago. Had a bit of trouble getting the scales off his tail but a good soak in his pond took it right off:) Now he's all shiny and brand new:)
