Aundrea & I were on the phone, Like usual...

she was out looking for worms & slugs. So since we are having a severe thunderstorm, I thought to go out & look myself. I had soooo much fun digging & looking for worms. I found 5, YAHOOO!!!! I couldn't find any slugs though.

I just made it in time from the storm...

hehe... I did that last time it rained here, too. Should go out right now, just had a nice downpour, but two poor pinkies already spent time in the "baby" garter tank and now they're in with Sly and Ella. They all prefer mice to worms, so I think I'll let the worms be for now :)

hahahaha yep and she called me all excited. I was digging around for worms and slugs since it was 60 out and boy do I wish it would stay like that. It rainned so I figured I would go out and find something. I found 2 worms and a huge slug.. I put that slug in the tank and DAMN it took no time for Max to suck that thing up LOL. :eek:He sure does love his slugs :D

Yeah, all this rain and mild weather is very good for snake food hunting. I went outside tonight and plucked a good 3 dozen from the lawn to add to my stash.

Really? My lawn was literally crawling with them! Probably because it's the first warm weather in months, coupled with the heavy rain. They all think it's spring, I guess. Boy are they gonna be peeved when the snow comes back......:D

we have had a drought here for 2 yrs now, we get rain, & when the next time it rains, it's soooo dry! Aundrea told me to look under leaves, we have lots in the backyard... so that is where I looked. I am going to go out tomorrow morning, to see if I can find more...

We had 4 solid days of warm weather, and just as the ground thawed, it snowed last night!

Thankfully they sell worms at the store, and (woo hoo) my slugs laid eggs!

Hope to have a bunch of baby slugs soon. The Dekayi are drooling.

Ok, so you made me feel all bad that my little ones were eating pinkies for dinner, AGAIN. Hey, I love prime rib and lobster, but if I ate nothing but that, I'd be asking for Hamburger Helper sooner or later. So anyway, I went and got some worms at the bait store. Erni was in HEAVEN, but poor James, he was in blue, and had no interest!!!! I only gave them a snack, but I'll check on them today and see if they are both ready to eat. Then they can have the whole buffet of pinky parts and worm parts!

Rotten little buggers! They REFUSED the worm parts!!! Oh, they ate their prime-rib-pinky meal alright, but there were the poor chopped up worms, not even touched! Prima donna snakes I have!!!!!

That's a great story. I have 3 Radixs that won't eat anything but guppies. I've tryed everything but can't get them switched. I'm with you "Rotten little buggers"

TY Lori

Sorry for the delay response been very busy.

So you run electricity straight to the ground and this brings up the worms??? :(:(

After reading I see the safety concerns but feel reassured enough if I use my head I’ll be fine.

Another one for “What I have learned about garter snakes”
