View Full Version : Snakes are like birds.

We all know that while we're washing our vehicles, the birds start to plot against us:mad: I believe our snakes do the same thing. Enclosure cleaning goes just the way it should but they are plotting. Probably giggling to each other about how they are going to trash the glass once they get put back. Within minutes of being returned, some smarty pants sticks there little tush up on the glass and lets loose. Not a quick one but a smear down the length of the tank. I can just imagine when that snake returns to the hide, the rest of them give him a "high five"(metaphorically speaking). Oh, yeah. Eat,drink, poop, breed I don't think so. There's more going on inside that little head than we give them credit for. They are so much fun! Take joy in even the little things!

I hear ya.... i think my cats do the same thing. I change the litterbox, what does Jake do, he waits patiently then, as I put the box back in... all clean, smelling fresh. Jake goes & does his business, & doesn't cover it!!

alot of my reptiles do the same, I clean, they make mess.... I think they are sitting there, saying... HA HA HA

I too... Steve love your little stories!

haha, this is so true, and why is it that every time you change the water one of them runs over to it within minutes and poops in it!?! its amazing....

Shannon, I see that you too recognize the conspiracy that takes place in our little snake world.
I had forgotten all about the "Poop in the water dish" joke they play on us:D

they're so darned bad!!! Some of them, specially radix, always have this little smirk on their face, like HA! Their faces are so round that they appear to have this little sneer and when you watch them dirty up a clean cage, you have to just laugh!

and why DO they smear their butt on the glass, and usually only after you've just cleaned it?!

Deejay is a plotter, too. She waits until I clean the glass, then takes a nice swim, and slithers up the glass dripping wet so it will leave beautiful water marks behind. Then she stands there leaning up against the glass, just daring me to clean it again.
Rotten little critters.:D

Yep! I know how that goes. Just got my garters into a 20g long from a 10g, Freshly cleaned everything. First thing they do that night while I'm asleep is poo all over one of their plants. Cleaned that up only to find the next night they went in the water bowl!

I think I will setup a infrared camera some night to catch these little stinkers. I bet they have a lookout setup and everything. Maybe this is like Graffiti to them. Think about it, they can't get to Walmart to buy the spray paint. Maybe there's a message in what they do. You know, like the elephant that paints! I may have to put a canvas or two up for them. Garter Snake Poop Paintings, this might be a money maker and I can use to retire:cool::D

I'd buy one, but I have my own.

Care for a "musk" stain?

Hey now there is a useful product folks. Think about it - smear yourself in garter musk, and you will always have a seat on the bus or subway all to yourself.

No matter how many times I've been musked I still can't get used to that smell. I can put-up with it but sure can't ignore it:(

My Pueblan milk is the hands down king of musk.

He's 4 feet long and dumps it by the quart.

hey
a snake's gotta poop
and you guys must be paranoid
my snakes are not conspiring against me
they're just sort of slithering along, not thinking of anything in particular, and the poop happens - not like they'd notice
now when my big king poops - that's a production - and he never does it in his hide, so I think he knows when it's coming
